While the volume of hacking attempts have increased in the late 2010’s, the tools IT specialists use to detect these attempts have also greatly improved.
In the past, antivirus scanners were essentially the only way to detect hacking attempts. Now, “intrusion detection” software is produced by more companies than ever, and they are constantly seeking ways to improve their systems.
The result has been quicker detection of hacking attempts, which gives professionals more time to respond to the issue.
Cyber Insurance Sales & Marketing Has Become A Major Industry
It wasn’t too long ago that cyber security insurance didn’t exist at all. Now, individuals are flocking to buy personal insurance protection from cyber crime.
The purpose of this insurance, according to Property Casual, is to, “provide support by investigating and rectifying any damage caused to their device, locating and removing viruses, as well as providing professional consultation in order to prevent future cyber-attacks.”

In other words, two factor authentication is the process that makes you enter an additional phone number or email address to your accounts. The purpose of it is to prevent someone from accessing your accounts with just the username and password alone.
A relatively simple concept, two factor authentication has been a significant development in cyber security. As usernames and passwords have gotten easier to steal, adding another step into that process has made a world of difference.
