Logging in to multiple social media accounts from your smartphone can positively influence your conscientiousness, and allow for all of your alerts to reach you. This is great for time sensitive actions. It means you’re constantly getting notifications from multiple accounts that you manage. The feature of administering several accounts is available through multiple platforms of social media. Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter allows you to administer multiple pages or accounts through one smartphone or device. Read this guide to find out whether linking your social media accounts would be beneficial to your type of social media work.

Being cautious of posting from the right page/account
Being cautious when interacting online from multiple accounts is important to make sure the content is not confused, and reaches the intended audience. The most accounts you have linked, the more confusing it can be to toggle between them.

Personal vs Professional Posting
When working from your personal device, make sure you never accidentally post to a formal account when you’re trying to post to your personal page. Being mindful of where you’re putting the content and who you’re replying as is probably the hardest part of having linked accounts. If possible, try to use a work smartphone or computer to link your accounts.

If you’re thinking about linking your social media accounts, be sure to check your sharing settings on each account before you proceed. Sometimes accounts will share certain information, like showing your account to the linked news feeds as a suggestion of who to follow. This is obviously irrelevant and not ideal when your pages and accounts have different targets. Check your settings when linking accounts to ensure your privacy, and ensure your page is reaching the audience you want.

On the Instagram App, you can easily change between accounts by tapping your name at the top of the page. On Facebook, it’s a little more difficult to go back and forth between pages. Whenever you’re drafting or liking something, be sure to choose “Like as M&H Consulting” or be sure your logged into the correct account before proceeding. By liking as the organizations page, this will ensure that the content you’re posting doesn’t come from your personal or main account, and just the account you chose to link.

Social media can be demanding, and it takes interaction to keep a page flowing organically. Linking accounts can be helpful and can keep you on top of things when you have a lot on your plate. If you’re ready for the notifications, and your settings agree, try out linking your accounts. You can always delete and log out of them if it doesn’t work for you.
