One way to stop this is to unsubscribe from emails, newsletters, or close out credit cards linked to stores that send multiple emails. This goes for third party apps that may be leeching your personal information. Go through devices and just delete.
Schedule Automatic Backups
There is nothing worse than losing data due to a power outage or accident only to find that you have no backups to help you recover the information. Schedule those backups and make them automatic so the next time the lights flicker, you will not be caught off guard.
Update Security Software
You get those little pop ups that remind you to update your software all the time. Stop ignoring them and update now. The latest software will also have the latest security programs that can help prevent hacking, and malware from entering your system.
Practice Good Security Protocols
Remind all of your employees about password management, backups, and maintaining the safety of your business’s sensitive data. A review of your company’s best practices when it comes to security is a good idea in the new year.

Smartphones, tablets and laptops are prone to drops and bumps as many business people use them while travelling. This new year, invest in cases and covers that will protect your hardware. This small investment can mean more than you imagine when your tablet falls down the escalators at the airport!
