The life of your technology depends on how well you take care of your things. Charging your technology can seem like something simple or mindless, but your charging habits greatly impact the health of your technology. Extend your time with your electronics by mindfully charging in these ways.
Unplugging and Plugging In
When you unplug or plug in your devices you want to be sure you’re not damaging the outlet or the chord by doing so. By pulling the cord from the base, you ensure you’re not hurting the wires and you’re removing the plug safely.
Restarting
When you restart your technology daily, it improves the health and speed of your technology. You should be turning your devices off the more you use them. This means mostly phones and computers. Some electronics, like cameras, are obviously turned on and off with each use.
Only Charge for as Long as Needed
You should only charge your device for as long as it needs to be. We don’t recommend leaving your device charging overnight or unattended. Only charging as much as you need will help the lifespan of your battery.
Let Technology Lose Battery Completely
Letting your technology die before you plug it in to charge is healthy for your battery life as well. If you keep charging in unnecessary times, your phone will never reach its full recognizable battery potential. This is why people find their devices dying with half battery level after having them for a while.
For computers and phones, you want to run it until it’s dead in order for it to reset the memory and storage that it picks up along each website you visit. Clearing your cache allows you to get more life out of your battery, as your device isn’t slowed down by storing all that data.
Charging electronics may seem like a simple task in which you don’t need to pay much attention. But if you’re conscious of your charging, and you take good care of your electronics, you can have them for longer and face fewer difficulties. M&H Consulting can answer questions about your technology.
