Artificial Intelligence in the Business

November 3, 2018 8:33 pm

In recent years, artificial intelligence has made its ways to popularity. We have seen it’s success and popularity mainly come to light for businesses, helping them perform core functions and tasks.

Artificial Intelligence, or AI, comes in many forms, anywhere from automated systems to robots. These systems are designed to process data, and identify patterns to further cite issues and disturbances (usually before they arise, thus making this intelligence a much sought after business commodity).

Many daily, weekly, or monthly tasks of the business can be tedious or time-consuming. As a time-oriented society, business owners today have been increasing efficiency and saving time/money with artificial intelligence. Saving time and resources by automating these systems has been a rising trend, and doesn’t show signs of slowing. By 2021, there will be an estimated spending of $52.2 billion on artificial intelligence.

Though we say these businesses are saving money, this doesn’t mean AI is by any means inexpensive. AI systems must be particularly niche to your industry, and they require IT consulting. Your business must have the right technology, to begin with, relating to memory processing and storage capacity.

Artificial Intelligence is applicable to so many businesses. Though you may not think it could work for your business, think a little deeper.
“Interest and awareness of AI is at a fever pitch. Every industry and every organization should be evaluating AI to see how it will affect their business processes and go-to-market efficiencies,” -David Schubmehl, research director of Cognitive/Artificial Intelligence Systems at IDC.

The type of AI you need will depend on your business. AI has been successful in early diagnostics in the healthcare industry, spotting things earlier and more quickly than humans. In the finance industry, AI has been useful with tracing hackers and detecting fraud. AI can be used in public safety, preventative maintenance, customer service.
There is no doubt that this technology is here to stay. If you think AI is right for you, research your potential options and embrace all possibilities. Reach out to us with your questions, comments, or concerns.
